The Inspiring Journey of BPBS: Revolutionizing Professional Boxing in Bangladesh

I want to share the incredible story of the Bangladesh Professional Boxing Society (BPBS)—not just as an observer, but as someone deeply involved in its journey. This is a story of passion, vision, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Founded by MD. Asaduzzaman, BPBS is transforming the professional boxing landscape in Bangladesh, creating opportunities for aspiring boxers, and putting the country on the global boxing map.

How It All Began

BPBS started with a bold dream—to bring professional boxing to Bangladesh. Before BPBS, professional boxing had no structured presence in the country. But I refused to accept this limitation. MD. Asaduzzaman, with over 25 years of experience as a coach, mentor, and promoter across the globe, took the lead in making this vision a reality. His deep connections with WBBU, WBC, and GAB helped establish BPBS as a credible and internationally recognized organization.

Making History: The First-Ever Professional Boxing Event

I made history on November 20, 2020, by being part of the team that organized Bangladesh’s first professional boxing competition at the BKSP Boxing Gymnasium in Savar, Dhaka. It was more than just an event—it was a statement to the world that Bangladesh was ready for professional boxing.

Encouraged by the success, I took things further. On February 26, 2021, I helped organize the first international professional boxing event, featuring boxers from India. Seeing Bangladeshi fighters compete on an international stage for the first time was a moment of immense pride. These events were more than competitions; they were a celebration of courage, skill, and determination.

Creating a Platform for Boxers

Since that first event, I have played a role in organizing 60 national and international competitions till the date, giving Bangladeshi boxers the exposure they need to grow and excel. Every event brings in more talent, more opportunities, and more recognition for Bangladeshi fighters. Young athletes who once saw no future in professional boxing are now stepping into the ring, believing they can achieve greatness.

Building Champions for the Future

BPBS is not just about organizing events; it is on a mission to train, develop, and nurture world-class boxing talent. My vision is to see Bangladeshi boxers standing on global podiums, winning international titles, and bringing honor to the country. With each fight, I move closer to this goal, inspiring more young athletes to step into the ring with confidence.

Trust, Integrity, and Recognition

BPBS is the only legally recognized organization for professional boxing in Bangladesh. As the official sanctioning body, I ensure that every event meets global standards of fairness, transparency, and professionalism. This credibility has helped gain trust—not just from boxers and trainers, but from sponsors and international organizations as well.

The Road Ahead

The journey doesn’t stop here. I am working to expand my reach by organizing more international events, setting up training academies, and providing structured development programs for boxers. My goal is to create a sustainable ecosystem for professional boxing in Bangladesh—one that will continue to grow and thrive for generations to come.

The Challenges

Despite the achievements, I continue to face several challenges. Limited infrastructure remains a major hurdle, as Bangladesh lacks world-class boxing facilities and academies. Financial constraints also pose difficulties in securing funding and sponsorships for events. Additionally, public awareness of professional boxing is still in its early stages, requiring continuous efforts to promote the sport. Lastly, lack of government support has slowed down progress; greater involvement from policymakers would significantly boost the development of boxing in Bangladesh. Overcoming these obstacles is crucial for ensuring long-term success and sustainability in professional boxing.

Why This Journey Matters

For me, BPBS is more than an organization—it’s a movement. It’s about breaking barriers, creating opportunities, and inspiring change. It’s about proving that with dedication and vision, I can transform lives and bring global recognition to my country. I am proud to be part of this journey, and I invite others to join me as I continue to revolutionize professional boxing in Bangladesh.
